Stopping Rapamycin during an upper respiratory infection

Can I still take my Rapamycin if I have a respiratory virus?

Hi! This is Shriya from the Healthspan Clinical team! In the case of viruses/infections, Healthspan’s recommendation is to temporarily pause the rapamycin protocol. Rapamycin may have an effect on your immune system, therefore impacting your body’s ability to fight the infection. While this is a general recommendation, we do urge you to reach out to the Healthspan providers if you have any questions about your protocol. We are here to help!

What is the protocol for temporarily holding Rapamycin during a respiratory infection (how soon from the onset of symptoms and when to resume). Some clarity may be helpful here.

I am interested in the answer to this as well.

Hi Chris,

It’s Shriya from the Healthspan Team. We recommend pausing the Rapamycin protocol until all your respiratory symptoms have cleared. This is the most cautious approach and ensures that Rapamycin does not interfere with the healing process in any way.
