I am taking Metformin and Januvia and a low dose of insulin glargine to manage diabetes. I also take 30mg of nateglinide (Starlix) before starchy meals. Apparently Starlix is prescribed in a manner similar to acarbose but they work differently in the body. Might I see more of a healthspan benefit if my endocrinologist switched me from Starlix to acarbose? I haven’t seen any data on Starlix and lifespan/healthspan.

Would it make sense to take acarbose with a meal that had simple sugars but no carbohydrates? Would it make sense for someone on a keto diet to eat some carbs with acarbose just to create those modified carbs? | 0 | 516 | March 17, 2023 | |
