I am taking Metformin and Januvia and a low dose of insulin glargine to manage diabetes. I also take 30mg of nateglinide (Starlix) before starchy meals. Apparently Starlix is prescribed in a manner similar to acarbose but they work differently in the body. Might I see more of a healthspan benefit if my endocrinologist switched me from Starlix to acarbose? I haven’t seen any data on Starlix and lifespan/healthspan.
